Wired connection to the UiB network for guests

This service connects your PC to the internet. You mus identify yourself with your user account or a mobile phone number.

Your device will in some cases announce that the service requires authentication, and ask if you want to proceed to the autentication page. Or you may open an internet browser on your device. You wikk be taken to the authentication page the first time you attempt to load a web page.

How to log in if you DO NOT have a user account (student or employee) at UiB, HiB or SiB

This goes for all visitors to UiB who do not have a user account. If you are not visiting UiB, you should not use this service.

At the bottom of the log-in page you will find two fields:

Username/Phonenumber:
Password:

Enter your mobile phone number i the field "Username/Phonenumber". If your phone is not norwegian, use + countrycode yournumber, eg. +4612345678.

Leave the field "Password" empty.

Click the "Send inn"-button below the fields.

You will soon receive an SMS containing a code.

Return to the log-in page. Enter your mobile phone number in the field "Username/Phonenumber" and the code you just received in the field Password".

Click the "Send inn"-button below the fields.

How to log in if you have an account (student or employee) at UiB, HiB or SiB

For guests affiliated with norwegian or foreign institutions participating in the [eduroam copperation|http://www.eduroam.org/], we strongly recommend that eduroam wireless network is used instead of uib-guest. Eduroam is a moe secure and better service!

It is still possible to log on uib-guest with your own account for all users with employee or student account at UiB (the University of Bergen) HiB (Bergen University College) or SiB (the Student Welfare Organisation in Bergen).

At the bottom of the log-in page you will find two fields:

Username/Phonenumber:
Password:

Enter your user name in the field "Username/Phonenumber" and your password in the field "Password".

Click the "Send inn"-button below the fields.
